History of Maserati
The Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, and Ernesto, founded the company in 1914.
The first Maserati was the Tipo 26M which was introduced in 1926 with a straight-8 engine. Its top speed was 93 MPH.
In 1937 the company introduced an 8C model which won its first race a year later in the Mille Miglia.
Maserati was the first Italian company to produce a supercar which was introduced in 1946. The firm produced the 1500S, and it was impressive as it boasted a 130 MPH top speed. At the same time, Maserati became connected with Ferrari when they proposed to buy their racecars.
The Maserati A6GCS and A6GCS-62 models were introduced in 1956 which were built upon the same chassis as that used by Ferrari 250 series cars.
Giuseppe Merosi designed and produced the seventh generation Grand Prix car for Maserati which was called the 250F.
The company merged with Citroën in 1968, but they only lasted two years together.
In the 1980s Maserati shifted to producing luxury cars as well as racing cars when it began to produce V8 models.
In 1989 ownership of Maserati transferred to Fiat, and then in 1993, it was sold once again this time to Alejandro de Tomaso.
In 2009 Maserati was sold once again to Fiat.
The auto manufacturer was acquired by Fiat group in 1993, and it is a subsidiary of FCA Italy S.p.A. Automobiles des Modèles de Voitures Maserati S.p.A., the company that produces vehicles for Maserati is headquartered in Modena, Italy.

Ongoing Production Models
Maserati is best known for its Quattroporte sedan, which was introduced in 1963. Maserati currently produces the Quattroporte and the GranTurismo sports car lines, as well as two different crossovers: the Levante and the Kubang.
The Maserati MC25 will be the first true flagship model from Maserati, in fact, it will be the most expensive vehicle to ever come out of the Italian automaker since it was founded in 1914.
The car will be a serious contender for the Ferrari 488 GTB and Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and it is likely that it will outclass both cars on the market until Ferrari’s next generation supercars are launched.
